Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

This is all about getting your site to show up when people search for your type of business on Yahoo or Google or Bing. This brings visitors to your site at a fraction of the cost of regular advertising. Search Engine Optimisation is talked up as “free traffic” to your website. Well, that’s only partly true.

If you get lucky, have zero competition, and miraculously manage to rank in the top few spots on Google for all your main keywords… then I guess it’s free.

But I think we both know that’s not going to happen. That’s where you need to pay for an SEO professional to give your site the “extra push” it needs to rank well for your main keywords. And, naturally, that costs money. However, the return on investment – on the very important proviso that your website is professional, the copy is well written, your sales process is well tuned, etc. – will be many, many times greater than your investment in SEO.

How to Waste Your Money Fast

There are two ways to do SEO. You probably get random emails and calls on a daily basis from the people who practise the spammy, short-term focused way of doing SEO. This is a bottomless pit you’ll be pouring money into month after month.

I should point out that it will work… just along as you continue to pay (just don’t ask them how they’re doing it or your stomach might churn). But pretty soon after you stop paying… poof! All those fabulous results gone in flash of smoke and mirrors.

I do NOT engage in this kind of SEO. I call it “SEO spamming and scamming”. It’s what makes SEO a four-letter word. The good news is I can help you do it the right way.
